Brenna Rademaker: Voting Signs    I really the setting of the photo. It speaks out and easily shows what the picture is trying to say. I think the angle the picture was taken at also gives good emphasis to the photo and makes it really nice. Jenna McGovern: Fisherman    I really like this photo, it reminds me of some of my family members favorite hobby. The photo a has nice setting that is eye-catching and the setting sun in the background gives off a calm feeling. Gina Seaman: Girl     I like how the shadows from the trees are splayed across the girl's face so that it gives it a good kind of emphasis toward the face. The focus is drawn toward the girl's face, and it makes for a really nice picture.

  The quote, "Tax dollars should not be wasted on art, music or theater classes in high school. Public high schools should be about training young people to enter the workforce. Period.", shows that people believed school should be used to train kids for nothing but work. It shows that people do not believe that art, music, and theater are actual jobs and are just extra classes for kids to waste time in or have fun. The quote is saying that arts and theater does not have any importance whatsoever. Budget cuts have been happening for years now so artitic classes are being cut because they seem to have next to no importance.    Art classes have just as much importance as an English class. For many people, art is a way to express themselves and get away from the sometimes harsh, and stressful academic classes. 1) What I believe to be the attributes of a successful portrait are having something that you can take and focus on. I think the angle in which a portrait is taken and the tone and colors that go along with it can tell a lot about the person. It can either give us a kind of message to show the truth of something for that person during that time or make us believe something that might not even be close to the truth. 2) The portrait of Karen Blixen is a successful portrait because the picture captures an emotion based on the angle, tone, and colors of it. The picture is angled in such a way that gets up close and personal with the woman, capturing her age and her thoughts and emotions shining through her eyes. It really focuses on the woman instead of having multiple objects or other people that you would want to try and focus on and decipher. The woman seems to be aged and possibly tired.
